Requires 2 disks labeled 1, and 2.
pc/MRP's DOS version 6.28,6.35-6.40 can be updated to pc/MRP for Windows
version 6.36 - or -
pc/MRP's for DOS version 6.49 can be updated to pc/MRP for Windows version 6.49AR
Once pc/MRP has been updated to the correct DOS version, you can then install the corresponding Windows version of pc/MRP.
To install pc/MRP for Windows, place the 1st pc/MRP for Windows disk in the a: drive and type WIN A:SETUP from the DOS prompt. Or, if you are already in Windows select Files, click on Run, and enter A:SETUP
pc/MRP for Windows will install itself in a directory named PCMRPW and prompt you to load the next disk.
Once pc/MRP has installed itself click on pc/MRP for Windows icon to start.
Enter the drive you are installing pc/MRP for Windows from (Drive A: or Drive B:)
Since this is an upgrade from DOS to Windows, select Upgrade.
Enter the drive and directory where pc/MRP for DOS is located. (e.g. C:\PCMRP)
pc/MRP for Windows will then copy all necessary .DBF and .MEM files over from DOS:
Enter your password as usual.
Exit pc/MRPW and return to the DOS prompt to make the following changes:
If you are updating a network version on the server, attribute five files
in the PCMRPW directory as follows
from the DOS prompt in the PCMRPW directory:
If you wish to copy your address log book text files to the Windows
version, enter:
COPY C:\PCMRP\*. C:\PCMRPW\*.WRI [Rtn]
For every workstation, on the network that you want to run pc/MRP create
an icon as follows:

Select Network Neighborhood Click on NEW Click on VIEW Double click on MAP NETWORK DRIVE Type in the computer name and drive \\SERVER\C Check the box to reconnect at log in Exit Network Neighborhood, select My Computer Right click on the desktop. Select New, Shortcut Press BROWSE and locate the PCMRPW.EXE file Double click the file, then press NEXT Change the description to 'pc/MRP', press FINISH |
