Requires 1 Update disk with Update and DOS boxes checked
The update disk must run from the a:drive.
If the update disk fits the b:drive and not the a:drive,
type ASSIGN A=B to convert the b:drive to the a:drive.
Once the update is completed typing ASSIGN will restore the drives to
their original configuration. If you are working with DOS 6.2 or higher
type SUBST A: B:\ to convert the b:drive to the a:drive.
If you are updating on a network:
On all networks except Novell and Network OS
If the network is Network OS
If the network is Novell
Follow the remaining steps to update pc/MRP if it is on one pc or
a network:
* Make sure you have an disk labeled UPDATE3 prior to starting
* Make a copy of the Update3 disk prior to starting
* Type cd\pcmrp to change directories to pcmrp
* Type dir[Return]
* Total the # bytes used in the pcmrp directory
* Proceed only if the number of bytes free is 2x pcmrp's total
* Backup your pcmrp directory onto floppy disks or tape
* Type md\pcmrpbak to make a backup directory. pcmrpbak
must be a directory off of the drive and not a sub dir of pcmrp. If you are unable to create this directory it may already exist as a directory or file.
* Type copy c:\pcmrp\*.* c:\pcmrpbak /v
* Type cd\pcmrp [Return] to change to the pcmrp directory.
* Check your present version number by booting pcmrp.
* Load the Update3 disk into drive a and type: copy a:update3.exe c:\pcmrp/v
* Type c:update3 [Return]
* The version number you are upgrading to should appear
* Enter your present version number when requested. If you do not know
your present version number do not continue. You can find it by starting pc/MRP and reading it off the startup message.
* Once you have entered your present version number the update program
will proceed to modify your files to make them compatible with the new
version. On all networks except Novell and Network OS make the following
files read only: ATTRIB +R PCMRP3.EXE ATTRIB +R PCMRP3.DBC
