15.18.1 Integrating pc/MRP and AUTOCAD

The line, ASETUT=C:\PCMRPW, should be added to your autoexec.bat file

Autocad can be integrated with pc/MRP as follows:
Initiate Autocad
Click on file
Select a drawing showing an assy (should contain component parts and sub assys)

Click on file, click on ASE, and then click on SET
Click of DBMS
Click on dBASEIII

Click on file, click on ASE, and then click on SET
Click on DB
Enter ASETUT in database box text field and click on OK

Click on file, click on ASE, and then click on SET
Click on TABLE

Enter PARTMAST as table and click on OK

Click on PARTNO for key column and click on ON

Set cross hairs on first part you wish to link with pc/MRP
Click on file, click on ASE, and then click on SET ROW
Click on KEY
Enter the part's part number in the edit text box and click on OK
Click on file, click on ASE, and then click on MAKELINK
Select OBJECT and press W and create a window over the item

The link has now been established for the first part on the drawing

To see and or test the link, click on file, click on ASE, click on Quickview
Select object- click on object (the partmaster record for that partnumber will appear)

To link the next part on the drawing (and all remaining parts on the drawing)
Click on file, click on ASE, click on SETROW, click on KEY
Enter the part number in the edit test box
Click on file, click on ASE, click on MAKELINK
Select OBJECT and press W and create a window over the item
