2.1.1 Hardware Requirements IBM compatible 486 or higher, minimum of 8 Megs of RAM for Windows 3.1 and Windows 3.11. 16 Megs of RAM or higher for Windows 95. 32 Megs of RAM or higher for Windows NT.
2.1.2 Initial Installation, (first time only)
If you are installing a single user version of pc/MRP you are finished with the installation and do not need to follow the instructions listed below. If you are installing a multi-user version of pc/MRP, exit pc/MRPW andfollow the directions below.
Define a password for future access to the program then enter your password and your company's name, address, phone number and FAX number. Make sure the server's config.sys file has the line FILES=200 (Windows 3.1 only)
Attribute six files read only in the server's PCMRPW directory as follows from the DOS prompt: ATTRIB PCMRPW.EXE +R
ATTRIB CONFIG.FPW +R
ATTRIB MSG.DBF +R
For every workstation, on the network that you want to run pc/MRP create an icon as follows:

Click on File Click on NEW Click on Program Group Properties Enter Description "pc/MRP for Windows" Click of File again Click on New Click on Program Item Properties Enter Description "pc/MRP for Windows" Command "F:\PCMRPW\PCMRPW.EXE (assumes F: is network drive) Enter working directory "F:\PCMRPW" |
Start Windows Explorer, expand the Network Neighborhood branch Expand the entry for the server Right click on the drive containing pc/MRP Select the MAP NETWORK DRIVE option Check the box to RECONNECT AT LOGON Click on OK, then close Windows Explorer Right click on the Desktop background Select NEW, SHORTCUT Look in the the new drive designation Expand the PCMRPW folder Highlight the PCMRPW.EXE file then press the OK button Press NEXT, then FINISHED |
